MMANEWSLEAK Exclusive:

A fighter who is not signed to a major MMA promotion goes through a lot, whether it’s the flights to other countries (Coasta Rica, Brazil, or Hong Kong), sleazy promoters, no insurance, and checks that might not cash. The worst of the worst happened to the fighters on the card Fury 2: “Armageddon.”

The event was scheduled to take place in Macau, China.  The event was cancelled just days before it was scheduled  amidst allegations that the promoter embezzled nearly $13 million.

Damien Roche, the promoter and former Director of Kontact MMA fled the country amidst a haze of controversy.

The fighters that had arrived from other countries were stranded without hotel rooms (the payment for them were stolen), return flights (they were never booked), and without paychecks. The fighters learned these things upon arriving in Macau, and few were as lucky as Mike Dizak who had a set of sponsors with him to help foot the bill to get him home.

Dizak is the typical working fighter; he has a day job and works hard to train. In this video Dizak discusses his time in Macau and how it effects his life (and pocket book).
